KLFW 2015: The best makeup looks

So you’ve had a look at our top fashion trends during KLFW but let’s not forget about the complementing makeup looks that the models donned on the catwalk. Like a well-oiled machine, the makeup team at Bobbi Brown, responsible for all the runway beauty looks, made the backstage madness look less scary. Here are our favourite beauty looks that made the runway.

Day 1 kicked off with the models walking out all pretty in pastels. The look was fun and energetic as lids were covered with lilac eyeshadow, high up to the brow bone and cheeks were flushed with a pale pink blush. Lips were stained with pink, concentrated on the centre, like a modern day geisha took a trip down harajuku lane.

It was all about the brows for Sazzy Falak and Sharifah Kirana’s show. Skin was kept dewy, a little blush and countour with barely anything on the lips to keep the focus on the brows. They were accompanied by matte eyeshadow in cement and strong eyeliner, stopping halfway on the lower lashline to give the illusion of a longer eye. The inspiration behind this look? Why, the fire phoenix of course.

For Alia Bastamam’s showcase, the models had natural soft brows and nude lips offset with gold chrome eyeshadow spread across the upper and lower eyelids. The pigments were brought across the nose bridge which might seem OTT but the colour palette was subtle enough so it wasn’t jarring to the eye. The overall look came across strong and warrior-like but soft and feminine at the same time, which I LOVE because hello… girl powahhh!

It’s no surprise that the makeup for Andy Bandy, Quin and Aere was inspired by night demons. The artist behind this look kept makeup around the eyes minimal and gave them a little lift with a slight wing. If you love this look but can’t commit to a full on black lipstick, start out with a deep purple lip and eventually work your way up.

We even had the pleasure of being the test models for United Wood and Tsyahmi’s makeup and let’s just say that this look was so next level, being inspired by water and the galaxy, much wow. The initial palette used an ocean blue but in a last minute switch, the MUAs went with gun metal and we’re loving it. The finished look was very edgy, extending past the inner corner of the eye, finished with tapering brush strokes on the outer corners, creating a look that we can only describe as #fashyuun.
